Geraint Davies MP (Swansea West) is pictured receiving a petition from 38 degrees members in his area raising concerns about the impact of TTIP upon the power of Parliament to manage and oversee trade agreements. Among those handing over the petition is Tony Beddow, secretary of SHA Cymru Wales.
Tony said ” Geraint Davies has been at the forefront in Parliament of exposing the secrecy surrounding the TTIP deals and his Bill requiring Parliamentary scrutiny of trade agreements is a welcome attempt to retain powers in Westminster. We can’t trust anything the British Government says on these trade deals. We also need total reassurance that the NHS will not fall prey to legal and commercial challenge from hedge funds and big insurers as a result of this deal.”
